Torstein Horgmo recently joined DC’s professional snowboard team. We’ve been following his riding a couple of years now. The 21 year old Norwegian has developped his riding from a young ripper to a world pro with tons of style and technical snowboarding at it’s best. He might have the most outstanding part on the DC MTN Lab 1.5 where he hits the jump alongside Ken Block’s Subaru with a frontside 720 tailgrab. The list of top placed contest results seems to be as endless as Torstein’s coverage in the Media. We’re proud he took the time and sat down to answer a couple of questions for CLDFX:
Hi Torstein, hope you’re alright. It’s a honour to have you here.
Give us a few words on who is Torstein Horgmo?
I grew up in, and still live in a mellow city in Norway called Trondheim. Where, as in most of norway there´s an unwritten unspoken law called… your not any better than the person next to you. In other words, I´m Norwegian… hahaha;) I don’t know… I have a hard time talking about myself. I guess you could say I´m a man of few words.
I could imagine after you became a DC Pro, your life is a lot bussier these days, what has changed for you?
Its not that busy yet. The season is winding down and I got about a month of straight chillin now before things start shakin. I´m doin some summer stuff for DC and spending about a month in whistler this summer for camp of champions. Next winter will probably get crazy!

Is it like you have reached all of your goals now? I mean you got that sick part in DC MTN Lab 1.5 and lots of footage is shown around the world. What’s next?
I´ve reached some of them and I have to set new ones. That’s important to me. I´ve done some filming but I wanna do a lot more. Can’t stop now;)
What are you doing these days? Still busy with getting shots?
Nope, done filming for the season and I´m mostly chillin right now.. trying to get that kickflip back on my skateboard.
Is there someone you’re looking up to?
Too many to mention.. But I have been hangin a lot with Andreas Wiig this winter and he inspires me in many ways.
I don’t want to go to much in detail here, cause I can imagine the time you’ve been injured wasn’t easy…how did you get well and was that kind of the reason for you to kick off to another level?
I just stayed focused on my recovery and I was really hungry to get back in the game. I probably got smarter with my riding too cause I´ve stayed injury free since then.
Any advices for upcoming pros?
Never give up, run your own game. And if people are hating on you that means you´re getting there, don’t let it drag you down.
There are videos with different styles, the technical backcountry ones and the more jibberish fun shred videos. What do you think, what’s the future?
Doesn’t really matter to me as long as the music`s good and it looks hella fun its awesome!
Any favorite photographers and/or videographers ? Who are the guys you like the most to ride with?
I can’t say I have a favourite photographer or filmer. I like riding with the DC team and I´ve been filming a lot with Andreas this season and I really enjoyed it.

Where do you get the energy from for a season full of travelling?
from snowboarding
What does a usual day in the life of Torstein Horgmo look like?
Chillin, good breakfast, chillin with friends, skating and some more chillin. And occasionally some ladies.
And what would your perfect day look like?
Add an awesome dinner the my answer above and we´re on to something! :-)
contestst vs filming equal, but in toatlly different ways.
street vs park vs pow pow is usually the most fun, but mixing it up never hurts”
back 12 vs back 1 back 1
Please just note the word that you first think about when you read this letters:
1. C: Chill
2. L: Lady
3. D: Driven
4. F: Frozen
5. X: X-ray
