DVS “Wood” – Skate & Create 2009 Feature

You can imagine that we’ve seen a couple of skate clips in our lives, good ones, bad ones and the DVS “Wood” Skate & Create Feature for 2009. It blew our minds as we watched it the first time! Skate & Create is an Transworld Skateboarding contest where 4 different teams have 9 days, 1 warehouse and 1 set of obstacles to skate and create a video clip with the best skateboarding documentarians.

DVS decided to pick Colin Kennedy as director and editor, Marc Ritzema for director of photography and Matthew Deak was the leading Art Director. The teamriders are: Daewon Song, MVP Torey Pudwill, Andrew Brophy, Zered Bassett, Kenny Hoyle, Jimmy Cao. All together they’ve created a perfect clip. Everything is just perfect, from an eye catching set over to well arranged obstacles, as well as skateboarding at its best. Even the making of video and the whole website are outstanding. All in all they created an piece of art that reflects the true beauty of skateboarding in a sence of HD style…The clip stands out through it’s complex simplicity. They managed it to reduce the set to a minimum and focus on skateboarding.
Watch the feature here and don’t miss the making of with the entertaining motion graphics as well as the DVS Skate and Create website with downloads and deeper going info.
